In this live in-studio video for 4AD, Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards shows why “Well, I don’t know anyone who plays an instrument” is not a valid excuse. Accompanied only by a loop pedal and Nate Brenner on the bass, she layers her own voice over and over, plays drums and absolutely kills the middle section of Bird-Droppings track “Real Live Flesh” with her impassioned vocal performance.
