Lil Wayne’s label, Young Money Entertainment, is quickly becoming a force in hip-hop. With the recent solo success of Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga, the rest of team is ready for their time to shine. Now that the America’s Most Wanted tour is over, they are putting the finishing touches on the Young Money Compilation album. In my interview, the camp talks about touring as well as bringing the “rap crew” back into the game.

I had the chance to catch one of the Canadian stops of the America’s Most Wanted tour, and although I don’t really listen to any of them individually, I think that they all sound pretty good together on songs. “Every Girl” and “Bed Rock” are cool group records and they sound alright back to back, even though they’re all trying to rap about sucking and fucking like Wayne does.

Watching them live is much different though. Lil Wayne’s live performance was much better than I had expected, but when he brought all of his acts on stage it looked like Wayne had brought the circus to town. The tour bus undoubtedly looks like a freak show when they roam city to city.

I still have a hard time with what exactly what is is people see in Lil Wayne, but you cannot deny that he has become a one man phenomenon, and this Young Money group album could be a force in the rap game. Drake & Nicki Minaj both have 200K + followers on Twitter… which means a lot for two artists that just (officially) signed and still don’t have an album out.
