Desolation Wilderness embarked on tour yesterday in support of their sophomore album, New Universe. Additional West Coast dates have been added, so they’ll have little rest before they leave for a stint in the U.K.

Vaguely wistful melodies and bell-like guitar noodling are the hallmarks of Desolation Wilderness, giving them a likeness to surf music being played underwater or, as they put it, “slow burners and warped guitar/synthesizer/vibraphone ballads influenced by drone music.” They are signed to K Records alongside more high-profile slowcore bands such as Mirah and Mount Eerie.
