Wilco were profiled on CBS Sunday Morning, a decidedly un-alternative show, this weekend. It’s a pretty hilarious segment, especially the way that the woman profiling them does the voiceovers with a voice that suggests every sentence ending with a wink. I’m not sure I buy the thesis of this segment though, since Wilco are about as huge as a decent-to-great rock band can be (terrible bands like Nickelback are obviously huger), and I would never, ever describe them as a “cult” band. But still, Wilco: breaking through to the mainstream Sunday morning snoozer TV shows. [Consequence of Sound]
