I hear we’re in something of a recession (don’t ask me. Good god man, I’m a blogger not a doctor of economics!). But apparently being in a recession doesn’t prevent rich people from over-paying for things from celebrities. Like some chump who just paid $64,000 for Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham’s gong. Not bong; gong. You can get a really nice gong at Guitar Center for $1,000, or 1/64 of what some dude paid for Bonham’s gong. I get that it’s special because it’s Bonham’s, but how often did he hit the gong? At the end of “Stairway to Heaven” once a night maybe 100 nights a year for 5-7 years. I’d much rather have a snare or a tom. [TripWire]
