The 2009 BET Awards bombed this year according to The Rap Up’s Seven Best and Seven Worst Moments.

The least impressive performances included New Edition’s Jackson 5 Tribute, the Young Money/Cash Money Showcase with Drake and Lil Wayne, and Soulja Boy’s live performance of “Turn My Swag On.”

There were some highlights. Beyonce was a hip-swaying angel in white for “Ave Maria,” and Jay-Z performed a strong “Death of Auto-Tune.”

The best moment of the night was when Janet Jackson spoke about her brother. “To you Michael is an icon,” she said. “To us, Michael is family.”

Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo followed this speech with an affecting “I’ll Be There.” [The Rap Up]
