tiny vipers | Life on Earth

Spent much of the evening listening to/being extremely impressed by the entrancing new LP from Tiny Vipers, Life on Earth (out July 11). Produced by Andrew Hernandez in a “classic analog studio in Austin, TX,” the record is haunting and spare and a bit somber, but Jesy Fortino’s voice lends an undeniable warmth throughout (Stereogum’s David Thomas Broughton comparison was an apt one). I mentioned this track briefly the other day, but in case you missed it, it’s now an official promo mp3 from Sub Pop; I think it’s safe to say that if you’re into this one, you’re going to love the full-length:

tiny vipers :: the dreamer

Here’s another from the new album called “Tiger Mountain,” as performed in a dark San Francisco alley last summer for la Blogotheque:

elsewhere:

Since we last heard from Dem Hunger (yesterday), the London producer has posted up a rad, unfortunately titled new mix culled from some old/obscure warped “dirty 45’s” of unknown origin:

dem hunger :: ejaculation control
